Course
Objectives:
- Introduce
advanced undergraduate students to epistolary women and the epistolary
genre in the early modern period;
- Examine
and compare rhetorical strategies in transnational women's texts;
- Discuss
the representation of women's lives in these texts and their
importance for women and men today;
- Reflect
on whether the recovery of female epistolary writers alters our
sense of the origins of the epistolary genre. Semester Seminar
