Your task: Write a report on a given topic or a topic of your own choice following the criteria below.

Grading Rubric:

 Points  1--Novice  2--Beginner  3-Apprentice  4--Practitioner  5--Expert
 Meaning--How appropriate is the information included to the topic?   Lack of details/data and support affect understanding of reported information.  Some appropriate details/data support information. Some extraneous information.  Most appropriate details/data included. Some extraneous information.  Most appropriate details/data included. Little or no extraneous information.  Sophisticated use of details make report superior with no extraneous information.
 Development--How well is the topic explored in the writing?  Lack of thesis and support.  Thesis but no support or support but no thesis.  Thesis and some support.  Thesis and adequate support that leaves little for reader to question.  Thesis and much support (including hard data) that adds to the sophistication of the entire piece.
 Organization--How well does the organiza-tional structure support the content?  Lack of paragraphs and structure that hinder comprehension.  Emerging structure (with paragraphs). Some inconsistency that does not hinder comprehension.  General structure and paragraphs that support content.  Logical, clear structure and paragraphs that support content.   Consistently logical, clear paragraph use and structure that advances meaning of content.
