The exercises which follow have been used with LEP students. Some of them are intended to get students to visualize what is going on. Some are used to promote closereading, and some, such as the visual organizers, are used because students seem challenged to fill in the spaces more than to answer questions in a traditional way. These questions can be modified to suit the ability of the class with which you work.
