Objective: This lesson plan is intended for seniors at the beginning of the school year, when they are in the throes of writing college essays, applying to universities, considering majors, and basically planning their future.
Students will investigate/analyze three types of education: the Renaissance education, their own high school education, and the type of education they wish to pursue at the college level. For each of these areas, students will consider several things: first, the kinds of courses/disciplines that are studied; second, the quality of person this education produces; third, if they will/have enjoy(ed) the coursework in this education; and fourth, if the education helps them to be person they wish to be.
This lesson plan is flexible, and teachers may adjust the assignments as they see fit.
