The Worlds of the Renaissance: Projects - Sally Sperling
Student Materials
- 1 spiral notebook* with 25 pages or use separate sheets and staple them
into a booklet
- An assortment of high-lighters, markers, pens
- Glue, scissors, rulers
* The notebook will have a left-right orientation. Information on the right side will always be
introduced by the teacher. Work on the left side facing this information will always be created
by students and require synthesis and problem solving skills as they manipulate the information.
Creating a front cover for the notebook can culminate the unit. Tell students they will be creating a collage of Renaissance images. Instruct them to be collecting visuals which represent the Renaissance (a combination of magazine, clip art, newspaper, and hand drawn pictures) for the next few days. Save one good example to use next year as a model.
