The Worlds of the Renaissance: Projects - Sally Sperling Renaissance Activity 1 A
Right page of Notebook* *Students are to create a web or cluster of the Renaissance names from the transparency leaving room to write bullet facts under each during this first activity.
- Display the transparency and tell the students they will play a game where they identify influential Renaissance people from the facts given.
- Instruct students to listen carefully to the clues given and use this information under the appropriate Renaissance name on their notebook paper. This information will be used in the second activity.
- Number each row. Each row will represent a "team" in this competition. The same person in a row cannot give additional answers until after someone else in his/her row has provided a correct answer.
- The first person in each row keeps the score.
- Each row begins the game with 3 points.
- Read a 3 point clue from the Fact Sheet. Continue with a clue worth fewer points if no correct answer is forthcoming. The row answering correctly receives the number of points assigned to the clue which results in a correct response. Points are subtracted for each incorrect response. READ THE CLUES ONLY.
- If no correct answer is given after all clues have been read, reread the three clues and state the correct answer.
- Continue until all the Renaissance personalities have been identified. At times repeat some of the clues already read and award points. This rewards individuals keeping good notes.
