The Story of Christopher Columbus
TASK: In 3-5 typed (double spaced) pages, write a synopsis of a specific time in Columbus’s life. You should discuss the events leading up to his voyages and his discovery of the New World.
MUST include:
- Columbus’ relation to Spain and his reasons for making his voyages
- Who granted him permission to sail
CAN include all/some of the following:
- Pertinent facts of Columbus’ life up to his maiden voyage
- Names of ships on his voyage/Dates of voyages
- Any other specific details of his voyages
- Navigational techniques used on voyages
- "New World" discoveries
*Your final paper must have a Title page and a Works Cited page.
(Note: This part of the project can very easily be adapted for different ages, especially the length of the paper and the questions addressed.)
